Reinhabitation and Decolonization through…
As future teachers knowing that we are going to have a diversity of languages and cultures in the classroom is very important. Making the classroom a welcoming place where the can feel safe to be themselves and making sure that personal opinions are not running through our minds so that there is room for development of knowledge and inclusion for everyone. Having student talk about where they come from and their differences to other cultures may also be important in their development and always making sure that they can be heard and feel proud of where they come from.

Hey, I agreed with what you said about having your classroom feel like an open and comfortable environment. I feel it is so important that students feel comfortable enough to share about their culture and where they come from and not be discriminated for it.

You're blog post has many interesting points throughout it. The first thing I liked is how you acknowledged the involvement of all age groups. I feel that people need to come together to learn and can learn from each others experiences. Also, you mentioned the role elders play. I think bringing elders into the classroom is a great way for story telling.

"Establishing involvement between youth, adults and elders to promote the goodness of working together." This is so important. It is a great idea to plan a field trip to an old folks home or have some sort of assignment in which the younger generation is encouraged to work with the elderly because it is very beneficial to both parties. There is so much children can learn from the older generation and as well they learn how to better connect with older people. The elderly need these visits as well, as some do not get to see their grandchildren and suffer from loneliness (especially in dementia and Alzheimer cases.) It is important that children learn the importance of being kind and generous and how fulfilling it is to give your time and lend your ear to someone else.
